How are [HAP Large] Acute Care Hospitals defined as it relates to ORYX Requirements?
For The Joint Commission, ORYX performance measurement requirements are specifically applicable to organizations accredited under the Hospital Accreditation Program (HAP).
HAP Large are defined as ≥26 Licensed beds OR ≥ 50,000 Outpatient visits

eCQMs and/or Chart-abstracted measures are submitted for all four (4) quarters.
NHSN group participation will not be required for 2026. We recognize NHSN is a valuable data source, and we will consider this data for future program requirements.
REMINDER: Don’t enter zeros for measures you’re not submitting data for; only enter data for measures your organization is required to submit.
This includes the PC measures for those organizations that do not provide OB services - do not enter zero for PC measures, and do not select the “Zero Denominator Cases” check box.
