General: Technical Requirements

Below are the technical requirements for accessing and utilizing the Joint Commission's Direct Data Submission Platform. These are the items discussed on this page:

  • Supported Internet Browser Versions

Supported Internet Browser Versions

Browser

Supported Browser Version(s) for Utilizing the DDSP

Microsoft Edge (preferred)

  • Windows 10: Version 86.0.622.43 and above

  • MacOS: Version 86.0.622.38 and above

Prior versions may work; however, they are not tested or guaranteed to work.

Google Chrome (preferred)

  • Windows: Version 86.0.4240.75 and above

  • MacOS: Version 86.0.4240.80 and above

Prior versions may work; however, they are not tested or guaranteed to work.

Note:  The Grammarly extension can cause some of the DDSP pages to display incorrectly and some page functionality to not work.  If you experience issues with the DDSP using Chrome and have this extension enabled; we recommend that you log out of the DDSP, disable Grammarly, and log back into the DDSP to determine if this extension is causing your issues. 

Firefox

Version 81.0.2 and above

Firefox Extended Support Release: Version 78.3.1 and above

Prior versions may work; however, they are not tested or guaranteed to work.

Safari (on Mac)

Version 14 and above

Prior versions may work; however, they are not tested or guaranteed to work.

Internet Explorer (do not use)

The DDSP will not support the use of Internet Explorer. 

Supported Windows Operating Systems

The DDSP supports Microsoft operating systems Windows 10 and 11.

Prior Windows Operating System versions may work; however, they are not tested or guaranteed to work. At this time:

  • Windows 7 and previous versions are no longer supported by Microsoft.

  • Windows 8.1 - Microsoft support will end on 1/10/2023

If Microsoft stops supporting sub-versions of Windows 10 and 11, they may no longer work on the DDSP.

Go here for Microsoft documentation to determine which version of Windows you are running and to determine if Microsoft is still supporting your operating system.

At this time we do not have “base” operating system requirements for Mac OS or other operating systems. We recommend that whatever operating system you are using, that you are using a supported version.

Adobe Reader Requirements

The ability to download and print your organization’s Submission Certificate requires Adobe Reader.  The current support version is Adobe Reader DC as Adobe has discontinued support for all previous versions of their Adobe Reader product.

Whitelist Domains and Email Addresses

Organization’s utilizing email filtering must whitelist specific domains and email address to ensure all communications concerning the DDS Platform are received by the Platform users. The list of domains and email addresses are:

Note: A whitelist is a list of e-mail addresses or domain names from which an e-mail blocking program will allow messages to be received. E-mail blocking programs, also called a spam filters, are intended to prevent most unsolicited e-mail messages (spam) from appearing in subscriber inboxes.  If you are uncertain how your organization or health system handles whitelisting, please contact your internal information systems staff.

If your organization is having issues accessing the DDSP platform, especially the Chart-Abstracted Measure (CAM) module, whitelist the following:

  • DDSP Home page and eCQM module: https://ddsp.jointcommission.org

  • CAM module: https://tjc-prd-cam-web.azurewebsites.net

Qlik Sense Error

The new DDSP had not encountered Qlik Sense Errors to date; if you do encounter an error, submit a platform support ticket via the “Need Help?” icon or email hcooryx@jointcommission.org.
