This email is sent to all organizations that have ORYX® performance measure reporting requirements regardless of the organization’s current CY2024 data submission status.

 The Joint Commission is reminding organizations that have ORYX® performance measure reporting requirements to submit their data well in advance of upcoming deadlines in order to have time to resolve any unexpected issues and verify that their data is entered accurately and on time. Organizations electing to use consultants or vendors to assist with the data entry process on the DDSP should have their own staff log into the platform to verify that data has been submitted as expected. Joint Commission staff cannot confirm this for you.

Users with access to the DDSP should download and retain the Submission Report from the Home page on the DDSP, which provides a summary / proof of submission of the data received from your organization.

Upcoming Deadlines:

·     The Joint Commission deadline for entering 4Q2024 chart-abstracted data to the DDSP is March 31, 2025 at 11:59PM Central Time.  This is applicable to organizations required or electing to submit chart-abstracted data.

·     The deadline to submit CY2024 eCQM data is March 17, 2025 at 11:59 PM Central Time. The eCQM Submit button is now available in the eCQM Module on the Submit Data page. This is applicable to organizations required or electing to submit eCQMs.

·     The Joint Commission and CMS are separate entities with separate requirements and platforms; submission of data to one does not meet the requirements of the other.

Deadline for retransmission of 4Q2023 CAM Data
If your organization identified incorrectly entered or incorrectly omitted chart-abstracted data for 4Q2023, the deadline to correct this is December 31, 2024 at 11:59 PM Central Time. There will be no opportunity to resolve 4Q2023 CAM data beyond this date.

CY2024 Extenuating Circumstances
If your organization intends to submit an Extenuating Circumstances Request (ECR) form specific to submitting eCQM data for CY2024, all forms must be received at The Joint Commission no later than June 1, 2024. If no eCQMs will be submitted, organizations are required to submit a minimum of three (3) chart-abstracted measures for the entire calendar year, unless the request is for an exception for submission of any data and supporting documentation is provided.

The Joint Commission made no changes to the measures or measure requirements for Assisted Living Communities for the 2025 calendar year.

The Joint Commission will be hosting office hours for Assisted Living Communities on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 11am - 12:30pm (Central Time) for organizations using the Direct Data Submission Platform (DDSP) for submission of required ORYX Performance Measurement data for accreditation purposes.  
  
Office hours are a webinar-based format.  The content of the webinar for office hours includes tips for successful use of the platform and data submission. The webinar is staffed by The Joint Commission staff to answer questions for organizations. Attendees can ask questions via the Ask a Question feature.

This is a reminder that Joint Commission–accredited assisted living communities (ALCs) are required to report ORYX Performance Measurement data to The Joint Commission via the Direct Data Submission Platform (DDSP) on all measures for all four quarters effective 1/1/2024.

Organizations have access to the CY2023 platform now and may elect to submit all/some/no data for CY2023. We encourage organizations to log in to the DDSP to increase their understanding of the platform and data entry in advance of the requirement.

Data is entered quarterly. The CY2024 DDSP opens for data entry on April 1, 2024.  

For those organizations who have not onboarded to the DDSP, they must complete the onboarding process. 

·    The initial invitation to onboard to the DDSP was sent to ALC organizations in prior months. Those invitations have expired. Please send an e-mail to hcooryx@jointcommission.org to confirm the Signature Authority for your organization and request the invitation to the DDSP be resent.

Performance Measurement data to The Joint Commission for CY2023.

(NOTE: Joint Commission accredited Assisted Living Communities are required to submit

The CY2023 DDSP opens 12:00 pm Central Time on July 31, 2023.

• The Chart-abstracted measure (CAM) module will open for 1Q and 2Q data entry on
  July 31, 2023

  • The deadline to submit 1Q and 2Q CAM data has been extended to December
    31, 2023.

• The CAM module will open for 3Q data entry on September 1, 2023

  • The deadline to submit 3Q CAM data is December 31, 2023

• The CAM module will open for 4Q data entry on November 1, 2023

This is a notification and reminder for Assisted Living Facilities:

• For organizations electing to submit CY2022 ORYX Performance Measures, the Direct
  Data Submission Platform (DDSP) chart-abstracted module is now available for
  CY2022 data submission.

• For organizations that have not yet accessed the DDSP, regardless of whether or not
  the organization intends to submit CY2022 data, the Signatory Authority is
  encouraged to accept the initial platform invitation and complete the onboarding
  process in order to invite additional users and become familiar with the platform.

needs to be re-sent.

Additional Information:
Reporting ORYX performance measures for calendar year (CY) 2022 and CY2023 is optional
for Assisted Living Communities. However, beginning January 1, 2024, Assisted Living
Communities will be required to collect and submit ORYX data to The Joint Commission. The
chart-abstracted data will be due quarterly (three months after the end of the quarter).
Assisted living communities will abstract standardized performance measures, which allow
organizations to track the care provided to their residents and identify opportunities to
improve care. Measure specifications are detailed in the Chart Abstracted Measure
Specifications on the Measurement page of the Joint Commission website.
