The purpose of the Antipsychotics Table in the data element Off-Label Antipsychotic Drug Prescribed is to identify only the FDA-approved uses of these medications. This table will be updated with current medications in the 2025A manual.

The numerator population for ALC-02 includes all patients who fell and are transferred to the hospital, regardless of whether or not they were admitted to the hospital.

The ALC-05 measure was adopted from the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). We remain aligned with their measure to decrease burden for sites needing to submit data on the same measure to multiple entities. The DDSP will perform the calculation for the numerator once the data is entered.

The ALC-05 measure uses the data element Number of Staff Employed which has notes for abstraction which states “Unless most staff in the category are contract staff, only report traditional employment; otherwise include both contract and traditional employment.” If the staff member is just absent and is still employed during the month, the traditional employee would be counted in number of staff employed. If there is a vacancy being covered by the contract staff, the contract staff would only be counted if most of your staff is contract staff.
