Suspended organizations may submit ORYX Performance Measures to The Joint Commission via the DDSP if they choose.

For The Joint Commission, ORYX performance measurement requirements are specifically applicable to organizations accredited under the Hospital Accreditation Program (HAP) and Critical Access Hospital (CAH) manuals, with exceptions noted below.

Suspended organizations may submit ORYX Performance Measures to The Joint Commission via the DDSP if they choose. These programs are currently excluded from NHSN participation requirement.

Free-standing Children’s Hospitals (HAP Accreditation but exempt)

Indian Health / Tribal Hospitals (HAP Accreditation but exempt)

HCOs in PPS-Exempt-Cancer Hospital Quality Reporting (PCHQR) Program (HAP Accreditation but exempt)

Ambulatory Care Centers

Behavioral Health Centers
(NOTE: Freestanding Psychiatric Hospitals (HAP Accreditation) do have ORYX requirements)

Home Care / Home Health

Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs)

Laboratory

Long Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACHs)

Nursing Care Centers

Office Based Surgical Centers

Skilled Nursing Facilities

Telehealth Entities
