The Joint Commission upgraded the technology supporting Quality Check®, our prior search tool for accredited organizations and certified programs. 

Publicly available information on the organizations accredited or the programs certified by The Joint Commission will now appear on The Joint Commission’s website, where we will be able to deploy quicker updates.

The new “Find Accredited Organizations” tool became available on April 30, 2024 via: https://www.jointcommission.org/who-we-are/who-we-work-with/find-accredited-organizations and includes:

• Name of organization

• Accredited, certified and/or verified programs (as applicable)

• Sites of care

• Last survey or review date

Data on quality performance measures is available via the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Care Compare tool.

Joint Commission accredited organizations will continue to receive Accelerate PI™ Dashboard Performance Reports via their secure Joint Commission Connect® extranet site.

Joint Commission accredited organizations receive Accelerate PI™ Dashboard Performance Reports via their secure Joint Commission Connect® extranet site.

The Joint Commission transitioned from the ORYX Performance Measure Report (PMR) to the Accelerate PI™ Dashboard. The dashboard is available via the organization’s Joint Commission Connect site, under “Resources and Tools”. The Accelerate PI Dashboard includes both chart-abstracted and/or eCQM data submitted.

Accelerate PI is the only method of data visualization for ORYX data effective CY2019. The Joint Commission discontinued the PMR data reported after 4Q2019.

• Beginning with CY2019, eCQM data are available to HCOs via their Accelerate PI Dashboards.

• Beginning with CY2020, Chart-abstracted data are available to HCOs via their Accelerate PI Dashboards.

• Accelerate PI Dashboards are accessible via an organization's Joint Commission Connect site.

We do not externally publish national or state eCQM rates. HCOs can access State and National rates for the eCQMs submitted on their Accelerate PI Dashboard within Joint Commission Connect.

Reports are posted to each organization’s Joint Commission Connect site. Reports can be accessed under the “Resources and Tools” tab under the “DASH – Data Analytics for Safe Healthcare” menu as a hyperlink named “Accelerate PI™ ”.

HCOs may use this report to compare individual performance with National Rates. The data included in this report will be refreshed annually based upon the Joint Commission data transmission schedule for ORYX® performance measures.

The Quality Measurement Trends and Benchmarks Report is a representation of all Joint Commission accredited organization’s performance on each of the selected ORYX® measures. The information in the Quality Measurement Trends and Benchmarks Report was obtained by aggregating 12 months of data transmitted to The Joint Commission. The Trends and Benchmarks reports mentioned above are separate and apart from the Dashboard Reports. 

The Joint Commission will provide benchmarking information on the Accelerate PI Dashboard for the opioid measure once there are enough organizations that submit the data on the measure to meet our parameters for publishing a benchmark.

Please contact the individual within your HCO that is an Administrator for JC Connect. Only they can provide you access to the Accelerate PI Dashboard.

The Joint Commission understands the importance of providing timely data to organizations. The HAP-Other reports contain measures selected from the CMS Compare dataset. For this reason, the data in the Accelerate PI dashboards can only be as recent as the data posted on CMS Compare. They are updated at least biannually with the most recent data available from CMS Compare. The HAP-ORYX reports contain ORYX measure data. These reports are updated quarterly with the most recent data submitted to The Joint Commission.

Beginning in 2024, Acute Care Hospitals are required to participate in The Joint Commission NHSN Group. This will allow for more timely comparative feedback to organizations. For additional information, refer to section 12. NHSN Group for The Joint Commission.

Feedback on submitted data is posted to Organization’s Accelerate PI Dashboard in their Joint Commission Connect site approximately three months after the submission deadline.

Regarding the Quality Measurement Trends and Benchmarks Report - data included in this report will be refreshed annually based upon the Joint Commission data transmission schedule for ORYX performance measures.
